DANNY FORTSON

A bit about me.
I have reported from more than 25 countries in Africa, Asia, South America and Europe. I sat across from Bill Gates, Marc Andreessen and Sir Richard Branson, and hundreds of startup founders working hard to build the future. I have been nominated six times by the British Journalism Awards for best tech and business journalist. Each week, I host The Times Tech Podcast along with Katie Prescott.
SPEAKING
I have delivered dozens of talks to groups small and large, taking audiences inside Silicon Valley to give them the perspective on the latest innovations, how to make sense of them, the implications for their businesses, what to ignore, what to pay attention to, and how to infuse their organisations with an innovation mindset...

TESTIMONALS:
Peter Attfield, former chief talent officer at Jardine Matheson:
“Danny is the perfect person to bring a birds eye view of what is happening in Silicon Valley to your executive team. I saw him both in the US as part of a series of visits to the serial disruptors of the tech world and as a presenter in our annual Learn Fest in Jardine Matheson, where his talk was the most watched amongst a programme of more than 35 presentations and panels.”
Adrian Simpson, Co-Founder of Wavelength Leadership:
“Danny brings together a wonderful blend of deep knowledge, unique insight and provocation into his talks, all peppered with a delightful humour. He is excellent at bringing potentially complex, new technologies and trends to life in a brilliantly clear, concise and compelling way using powerful examples. He is professional and diligent in his preparations - truly tailoring his talks to the brief at hand. Danny is an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. As an executive education organisation, Wavelength engages Danny to deliver sessions on every one of our Leadership programmes, every year, and we always receive rave reviews.”
Zoe Vafadari, Chief Brand and Corporate Affairs Office, Bupa:
“We had an inspiring session with Danny and our communications colleagues from around the world. It was educational, slightly scary, and very helpful as we work on our future communications strategy and consider the pace of change in consumer behaviour and expectations.”
Intercorp (Peru’s largest company):
“Your talk was fundamental to the success of the event. Your contribution helped us inspire over 8,000 virtual and in-person attendees, fostering crucial conversations about how new technologies can enhance our capabilities while keeping us connected to our essential humanity.”
WRITING
I started my career in Silicon Valley, covering the dotcom boom before moving to Spain and then Britain, where I worked on Fleet Street for 13 years covering everything from mining and oil to technology and aviation. I returned to California 8 years ago, where week in, week out, I cover the Silicon Valley future machine: what it is building, who is building it and what it all means for the rest of us. Below is a small sampling of representative pieces.
Sometimes I show up on TV, radio and other podcasts
PODCASTING
I have been podcasting for more than seven years, and recorded nearly 400 episodes. The latest iteration is The Time Tech Podcast, a weekly gallop through the latest tech developments with my co-host, Katie Prescott, including interviews with the top people in the worlds of AI, climate tech, synthetic biology and more. Subscribe here and here.
